Massive bronchopneumonia in influenza AH1N1 virus infected post-pregnancy women

In June 2009 the WHO signaled that the novel H1N1 flu pandemic was underway. In Romania death cases started to appear in late autumn 2009 and winter 2009/2010, by now more than 120 deaths with positive virus identification were reported. It is known that lethal progress is mostly correlated with low-immunity states, either physiological or due to associated diseases (e.g. diabetes melitus). We present the case of a 38 years old women that developed respiratory failure in the early post-pregnancy period, two days after caesarian section.
